Research and Evaluation services have saturated the market. The challenge is vetting them for quality control. The cost of R&E services is too high. One research cycle takes on average 12 months to complete. That’s too expensive and too long. Opportunities to make smart decisions are often missed because deadlines are missed. MOST IMPORTANTLY: traditional R&E services are not culturally responsive, which impacts the rate at which opportunity and equity initiatives can be advanced. Bottom line: The time to disrupt the supply side of R&E is right now.
The optics for R&E services is a one-size-fits-all model. That’s not good for the R&E industry. The challenge is that too many bad apples, meaning improperly trained R&E professionals, give the industry a bad reputation. The demand for high-quality R&E services is high but there’s a need to vet good from bad R&E services. MOST IMPORTANTLY: the R&E industry must provide better opportunities to develop the next generation of culturally responsive professionals.
